We are pleased to inform you that the Center for Language and Cultural Studies (CLCS) successfully organized the Three-Minute Speech Competition 2026, themed “Think Fast, Speak Clearly and Inspire Others,” on Sunday, 1 November 2026, at Seminar Hall 302, GUB.

Students from different departments participated in the competition, delivering three-minute speeches in English on randomly selected topics following a short preparation period. To recognize their performances, cash prizes were awarded to the top five performers, while certificates were presented to the first ten winners.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. M. Shahidullah, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as the Chief Guest. In his insightful speech, he appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to participate in more such events for their personal and academic development. The Director of CLCS also shared valuable insights on the importance of effective communication, critical thinking, and public speaking in students’ academic and professional lives.

The competition served as an engaging platform for developing students’ English proficiency and public speaking abilities, reflecting CLCS’s continued commitment to promoting language skills through academic and extracurricular initiatives.
