Sumaiya Afreen

Since 2019, Sumaiya Afreen has been serving as the GED Program Coordinator at the Center for Language and Cultural Studies (CLCS), Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), where she has played a pivotal role in strengthening the university’s General Education Development (GED) framework. With a deep commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary education, she has been at the forefront of coordinating common GED courses across multiple academic departments, ensuring seamless collaboration among faculty members, academic administrators, and university offices.

Her responsibilities extend beyond routine academic coordination. She oversees faculty allocation, course scheduling, centralized examination planning, curriculum implementation, CO-PO mapping, quality assurance, and academic policy execution while maintaining close communication with departments to ensure smooth semester operations. She also organizes faculty orientation programs, training initiatives, and university-wide GED coordination meetings that foster collaboration and continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices.

A strong advocate of educational innovation, Sumaiya has actively contributed to the development of new GED initiatives, institutional proposals, and strategic plans aimed at expanding the scope and impact of general education at GUB. She has successfully coordinated numerous academic events, mentorship programs, and curriculum enhancement activities that promote student engagement and holistic learning.
