British Council Book Reading Competition is a partnership initiative at GUB between British Council, Bangladesh and Green University of Bangladesh to provide students with the opportunity to read literature from around the world in simplified English. This program was introduced at GUB in Spring Semester 2015. The central motto of this program is to make reading and learning a new language fun and competitive. This competition is open for students from first, second and third semester. For this competition, there is a set of selected books in coordination with GUB for each semester. The competition involves the two basic activities namely reading books and taking part in an assessment. After the evaluation of the test scripts, the students securing at least 40% in the assessment receive certificates for successful completion, and those who score 75% and above win attractive tokens along with certificate from the British Council. Around 23000 undergrad students have participated in this program so far.
